Fonte was my “capo focolare” for several years in the late 70’s and early 80’s. The image that stays with me is that of a man of great meekness and humility and infinite patience. He always tried to understand the deeper motivations of the popi in his focolare in order to love them concretely. I remember a small experience that stayed with me because it was typically him: one day I needed a travel toiletry kit. He went to buy one for me concerned that even its color was what I wished for. Fonte loved in the small details. He had a great heart but also a sharp mind: with his engineering formation and experience, he often found original and creative solutions to practical problems. I remember him with great fondness.
