Thats what its about
Another young woman has died during protests in Iran.
She is said to have been beaten to death by the vice squad.
Authorities deny this, claiming that she jumped from a skyscraper and committed suicide.
As the protests sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini enter their third week, there have been reports of the death of another girl at the hands of the security forces in Iran.
Sarina Esmailzadeh, a 16-year-old who posted popular vlogs on YouTube, was killed by security forces with batons during a demonstration in Gohardasht, Alborz province on September 23, according to Amnesty International.
A statement by Amnesty International, citing a source, claims that Esmailzadehs family "have been severely harassed to silence them". The Iranian authorities deny this.
On Saturday, as news of Esmailzadehs death circulated on social media, Irans Isna News Agency reported that the Chief Justice of Alborz Province said a preliminary investigation had found the teenagers death to be a suicide after she died on Tuesday roof of five-story building cracked. Esmailzadeh had a history of mental health problems.
Iranian police again denied
It is not the first time that the authorities have presented a different version of the cause of death of a young woman killed in connection with the anti-government protests.
Back on Friday, the Irna news agency reported that an Iranian coroners report on the death of Mahsa Amini, the 22-year-old woman who died after being arrested by Irans vice squad and whose death sparked widespread protests, concluded that she was not died from blows to the head and limbs but from multiple organ failure caused by cerebral hypoxia after falling during arrest due to "pre-existing conditions".
Nika Shahkarami took part in the protests on Keshavarz Boulevard in Tehran on September 20, after which she was reported missing. Ten days later, her body was handed over to her parents. She had a broken nose and a fractured skull. Regime security forces caught Sarina Esmailzadeh on September 23, 2022 during protests in Karaj, Alborz province.
The police brutally hit her on the head with batons. The womens rights organization in Iran reports that when the Shakarami family sought to identify the body, they were not allowed to see her head. Her nose had been smashed.
