I become acquainted with Peter (who was a consultant then) in the context of the formation of Conv.Ph. (independent of gsk) as an independent biotechnology company. Peter was one of the most intelligent and higly skilled experts I ever met, a brilliant biotech engineer and very literate in all topics, especially rgd. brain/nerve signalling. I always wanted him to write papers and return to research, but he enjoyed being a consultant. I think this is very sad since all his knowledge has gone with him forever.
Peter, you may take it as an honour: You were the most wonderful paranoid nerd Ive ever met! I liked this character trait very much and I am more than sad that we will never meet again, my dear "Mr. Paranoia". I admired your brillance.
So, of course I was deepley saddened by Peters illness and hoped he would recover soon. As he was partly a freelancer he could use his home office. So I was sure he would manage to get along. However he still could not slow down and even worked harder than ever. He called my from time to time, giving me advice.
