On March 13, Brent Renaud, a US journalist was shot dead and another wounded in Irpin, Ukraine. The International Federation of Journalists identified the wounded reporter as American photographer Juan Arredondo. “Brent was a talented photographer and filmmaker, but he was not on assignment for The New York Times in Ukraine,” tweeted, Cliff Levy, Deputy managing editor of The New York Times. Brent was working on a TIME Studios project when the tragedy took place. Jake Sullivan, White House National Security Advisor, said US officials would consult with Kyiv to determine the circumstances of the attack, reported AFP.
