Dear Michael and Ursel, Gudrun, Karin and Klaus,
I was so sorry to learn of your mother’s death. I hope you can draw some comfort from knowing that you provided her with loving care in your home over the last couple of difficult years, and that her passing was peaceful. She will be missed by you all - our mothers have shaped us and have a strong hold on our hearts.
In my mind she was always the cheery, youngest aunt who welcomed me whenever I visited- and shared my enjoyment of lovely cakes! I hold dear the image of your mother and Tante Inge wrapped as a surprise 75th birthday present for my mother, in the corner of my lounge room, and my mother’s amazement and joy. You will have countless memories which you are undoubtedly sharing as you prepare to bid her farewell and celebrate her long and eventful life.
